I am looking for parents who are deeply interested in maximizing their children’s potential in school. If that’s you, I will personally work with you one-on-one to give you the tools you need to help your child be the best student they can be.

No Risk to You

To start, I will meet with you on the phone for 20-30 minutes, and based on your issue, provide you with 1 to 3 practical to-dos or resources that you can use immediately. There is no charge for this. At the end of this initial session, one of three things will happen:

1. You love the advice and you decide to take it from there and that’s all you need. If this is the case, I am perfectly fine with that and just ask that you keep in touch with me and let me know the results.
2. You love the advice and ask to become my coaching client so that I can personally continue to help you implement your plan and maximize your student’s potential. If this is the case, I promise you we can expect transformational change in your student. I’ve never had an unhappy client.
3. We will decide that – for whatever reason – it doesn’t make sense to work together.

It really is that simple and there’s no catch.

The worst that can happen is that you spend 20-30 minutes on the phone with me but come away with something positive to implement.
The best that can happen is that we work together one-on-one to give you the tools you need to help your child be the best student they can be.

It was evident that Iris knew her stuff when I mentioned that my son was struggling with 9th grade history.  She immediately responded, “Critical Thinking skills, right?”.   She took the time to explain the buzzword “Critical Thinking Skills” and then proceeded to describe the expectations that the teacher likely had with regard to homework and test answers.   She also left me with a great tip on note taking, involving leaving some room in the margins for purposes of later review with comments/ opinions/ contrasts.  When my son told his teacher about the idea, he said it was “brilliant” and shared it with the rest of the class.   Thank you, Iris, for empowering me to help my child be successful!

More about my qualifications:
I have three graduate degrees from Harvard (Masters in Counseling & Consulting, Masters in Technology in Education, and Doctorate in Human Development and Education). For 17 years, I have worked as a university professor, consulted for Mattel, PBS, the Department of Education, numerous private schools, and coached parents. My work has been published in Technology & Learning Magazine and a number of other publications on learning and education. I have put the research into practice successfully with other parents AND with my own kids (maybe the biggest challenge of all when they are your own).

I have 3 “creative” kids. I have a good relationship with my kids but it’s hard for me to be objective. Iris showed me that creativity is another type of intelligence beyond math and science and how to give them appropriate outlets for their passion. It worked! This offer is for parents of K-12 students who have a strong, healthy, trusting, loving relationship with good communication in order to implement the advised programs and plans. And you need a child who is willing to listen.

2. You must be willing and able to invest the time.
Implementing the programs requires effort and attention. You need to be available for your kids to be successful.

3. You must be interested in your student’s academic success.
This may seem obvious but you must be your child’s greatest advocate in the house, at school, in the community, wherever the solutions bring us to make the most from your child’s academic gifts.

4. You MUST be willing to implement the plans.

After all, if you don’t actually take the recommendations and put them to work, you won’t see the results.

Here’s What I Would Like You To Do Next

If you meet the criteria above and would like to talk with me personally about your student and getting great results, then I will happily set aside some time for you.

Here’s how the process works:

First, you will need to fill out a survey. This is important so I know the issues you are dealing with and we can make the most of our time together on our initial call.

I’m also going to ask for a “real interest” deposit of $125. I have found from experience that this will serve as a filtering device for those who are not serious about the offer. I will refund your money right after we hang up on our first call (unless you become a client and, in that case, I can apply that to your balance).

 Here’s What Will Happen Next

I will send you some options for times that will work for you to have our initial consultation. That call will be between 20 and 30 minutes. I will review your survey answers and discuss your situation in more detail. I will provide you with guidance, tips, resources — whatever is appropriate for your unique situation — that you can put into action immediately.

If you see the value in becoming a client, GREAT! We will discuss options. If not, that is perfectly OKAY too. I will return your deposit as soon as we hang up. Not a problem.

Nine monthly 60 minute calls. If you feel you need help over the entire school year, this program is for you.
